- * Prepare a baking sheet with lightly greased wax paper to place turtles on.
- * Place Aunt Em's Kettle Korn in a large mixing bowl.
- * Combine caramels, butter, and milk in a medium saucepan over low heat until smooth.
- * Gently stir caramel mixture into Kettle Korn until evenly coated.
- * Allow mixture to cool until it can be safely handled.
- * With lightly greased hands, press together a Tablespoon of the caramel coated popcorn and place onto the baking sheet.
- * Using your thumb, make a small indention on top of each popcorn mound.
- * While the popcorn mounds are still warm, push the small end of the cashews into the indentions in the mounds to form the heads of the turtles.
- * Stir together the chocolate and shortening until blended in a small saucepan on low heat.
- * Spoon 1 teaspoon of chocolate mixture into indentations of each turtle.
- * While the chocolate is still warm press 1 pecan half into each chocolate mound. (Pecan represents the turtle's shell).
- * Remove from baking sheet when cool and serve.
Some Turtles may be slow, but these turtles will move very fast!
