Aunt Ems Gourmet Popcorn - Home

Recipe adapted from 'The Hoppin 'n' Poppin Popcorn Cookbook by Gina Steer'
- Ingredients:
- 4 cups aunt Em's kettle Korn
- ½ cup granulated white sugar
- 2/3- cup water (tap or bottled is OK)
- ½ cup whole shelled pistachio nuts
- ½ cup toasted flaked almonds
- 2 drops of almond extract
- Directions:
- * Place the sugar and water into a heavy bottom and heat over low heat until the sugar is dissolved; stir occasionally.
- * When sugar is dissolved, bring mixture to a boil for 3 minutes or until a light syrup has formed (just for reference; Mrs. Butters Worth is a heavy syrup and the hot maple syrup they serve at IHOP is a thin syrup).
- * Remove from heat and stir in the nuts and almond extract.
- * Place Aunt Em's Kettle Korn in a serving bowl and stir in slightly cooled mixture until well coated.
Let everything cool before eating.
